About me
As the GIS Specialist for the Wisconsin Office of Emergency Communications my focus is couching, and advising the 73 data NG911 GIS data providing agencies spread across the state as well as managing our statewide efforts to provide QA, and data management support for those data providers. Wisconsin is a self-rule state which provides unique challenges for coordinating statewide GIS involved projects such as a transition to NG911. I am happy to say that as of the beginning of 2025 GIS has not been a block for any of the data providers to “Go Live” on the state’s NG911 ESInet, and we plan to keep it that way!
I began my career in GIS after graduating from the Valparaiso University in Valparaiso Indiana in 2008. I earned a graduate certification in GIS from Northwest Missouri State in 2010, and just recently became a GISP. I have held a variety of roles in our industry involving defense analysis, utility arboriculture, maritime cartography, GIS web development, and now emergency communications. I began working at the WI OEC in January of 2023 on the Wisconsin NG911 project and I feel it has been some of the most fulling work I have done in my career!
