Mathew Ugwuanyi is a GIS Analyst with the Orange County Public Works Department in Florida, where he supports a variety of geospatial projects across departments. His expertise lies in applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing to address public health challenges, disaster response, and environmental sustainability. Mathew’s work explores how spatial data can be used to improve health outcomes, particularly through mapping chronic disease risks and access to healthcare services. He is also a member of the 2025–2027 URISA Vanguard Cabinet, where he contributes to advancing innovation and mentorship in the GIS community. Passionate about knowledge sharing, Mathew creates tutorials and educational content that help others overcome technical challenges in GIS and develop practical, real-world applications.
