About me
Margaret Chilinda is a Graduate Student pursuing a Master of Science in Global Technology and Development at Arizona State University. She holds a BSc in Natural Resource Management from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), Malawi, where her undergraduate research applied QGIS and remote sensing to assess the impact of vegetation cover change on flood severity in Chikwawa District which is one of Malawi's most flood-vulnerable regions. Margaret's work sits at the intersection of spatial analysis, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Her experience spans GIS and drone training, environmental compliance consulting, remote mapping for anticipatory disaster action and research contributions to equity and justice frameworks. A passionate advocate for gender inclusion in geospatial technology, Margaret brings an international perspective to GIS practice and a commitment to using spatial tools for community resilience and environmental impact.
