About me
Kayla Coonen is an Operational Technology Specialist at Kaukauna Utilities (KU), where she has spent the past five years supporting GIS and other digital tools across electric, water, and fiber utilities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from UW-Eau Claire and a master’s degree in geospatial sciences from Missouri State University. Kayla has experience integrating GIS with various third-party software platforms to help advance KU’s digital workplace initiatives.
In this presentation, Kayla will demonstrate how KU uses ArcGIS Survey123, Field Maps, and Experience Builder to perform Overhead and Underground Inspections, creating a workflow from field data collection by linemen to review and analysis in the office by Distribution Superintendents. The session will highlight best practices, lessons learned, and the tangible benefits of adopting a connected, GIS-based inspection process to improve accuracy, efficiency, and communication across the organization.
