Ethan McGhee is a geospatial professional serving as a Systems Application Specialist II for the City of San Luis Obispo, focusing on GIS applications for local government. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Management and Protection from Cal Poly (2021) and is pursuing a M.S. in Spatial Data Science from Penn State.
A recognized leader in the field, Ethan was named the GPN's Young Professional of the Year in 2025, one of xyHT Magazine's 24 Young Geospatial Professionals to Watch in 2024, and the City of San Luis Obispo's Employee of the Year in 2023. He also volunteers as a leader of the GPN Vanguard Cabinet, dedicated to engaging young professionals in the geospatial community.
